1990 4x4 4.9L Cluster

Hello, I need to replace my instrument cluster because my speedometer is not working and I need to remove the speedometer cable from the tranny, however I don't know what special tools do I need to remove the cable. I notice it has a plastick piece righw were it meets the tranny, I tried to push it in with my fingers but is not working it just goes in circles. Thanks for your help!

There is not a special tool to remove the cable from the back of the speedometer head.
You just push in the flat surface and off it comes.

On vehicles equipped with a transmission-mounted speed sensor, remove the speedometer cable by pulling it out of the speed sensor. Do not attempt to remove the spring retainer clip with the speedometer cable in the sensor.
To install the speedometer cable, align the core with the sensor and snap cable assembly into the speed sensor.
