It seems to go through 1st 2nd and 3rd OK but it won't shift to OD till 41 MPH and locks the torque converter up right away. Drop below 41 mph and it will immediately shift out of OD
At highway speeds (50 mph+) with the cruise control on, it will downshift too easily out of OD when going up even slight inclines, which revs the motor up too much. Then it has a hard time going back into OD. Without the cruise on I can climb these inclines as long as I don't press the pedal too far. Seems like the kickdown acts way too easily
If there is issues with the TOT (Transmission Over Temperature)or the TPS Ford Fuel Injection Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) You should have codes. Check for codes with a reader and check the VSS and MLPS. Pull the connectors and clean them and dry them and check for faulty wiring and closely check pin connections. Clean the VSS and reinstall. http://www.wellsmfgcorp.com/pdf/Counterpoint4_2.pdf
