Hello Everyone, I am a newbie here and just wanted to introduce myself. My handle is ArkyAl. I recently bought a 1951 F1 that I plan to restore.
I think this forum is great. The information, pictures, people and experience here are priceless.
I have never restored a classic truck before, so I am lacking experience there but I am a mechanic and have good fabrication skills so I may be able to throw in my 2 cents once in a while.
Nice truck. I don’t know what direction you are going to go with your build, stock rebuild, slightly updated (so that it is useable), or full blown custom, but under the heading of beauty is in the eye of the beholder (lucky for me) there are a certain faction of nuts who like the exterior original nostalgia look with update interior and running gear. Please think about keeping that beautiful patina and great door art, and think of the money you will save by not doing body work and paint! And to be totally unique, you can’t buy that.
Welcome to the forum, Alvin! That is one gorgeous '52 you have. When you get a chance, we'd love to see more pics, especially of the cool door art. That kind of stuff goes over pretty good here. ;-)
Old F1; that truck is totally awesome! Is that yours?
Welcome the the forum you will find a lot of great people here with a lot of great ideas of what to do with the new truck you got. Looks great and have fun redoing it as I have with my 52.
Hello Alvin, Welcome to FTE! As said before lots of great people and good information on this site. Thats a great truck you have there. Look forward to watching your progress.
