I think this one is for Garbz. A while back you had a post modifying your 64 column. Just wondering what number bearing you used on the bottom of column to take the thrust that come from a double universal joint from power steering box. Thanks in advance for any help. Joe
I placed a stock 66 column in my 63. I modified the dash and the firewal to accept the later mount ( a section of 66 dash). I also cut off the stock 63 steering shaft and used that for the shaft in the 66 column. I machined a double D to accept a Single Borgeson joint. I may get some thrust with this but the Dakota rack has a slip joint at the rack. The spring in the upper column should negate most if any thrust.
A 61 to 64 can be modified with the later stock bearing and bearing support that is reproduced.
