Hey. Having a problem with my truck and not sure what it is. The truck is a 2002 F-150 king ranch, 5.4 triton 4x4. When idling the speedometer shows 30 km/h, and at around 80 its showing over 200 km/h, governs out, and wont go any faster. The tranny doesnt make any sounds, shifts nice, and 4x4 seems to work. The tires are original size. Any ideas?
I think you have a dash electronics issue.
The dash is stand-alone and has it's own micro-processor that takes data from the engine computer.
The dash has it's own diagnostic ability that is manually triggered by using the speedo reset control.
You would need to have the diagnostic data to interpet the results as you step through them.
In any event you may need dealer intervention to fix the issue because the dash is 'married' to the PCM by code.
It's a bit complicated, so good luck.
