STUCK IN 4 LOW

Well after 7 perfect years of ownership, besides a blown transmission, my baby let me down. Here's the scoop-

Yesterday at work, got stuck in the mud a bit. Turned the switch over to 4x4 high, locked in my warn hubs, and pulled right out. I had a decent load on and prefer to use low range so I kicked it in to low. Pulled right out no problem. Went to switch to 4xhigh, nothing. No sound, no click, nothing. Turned my hubs out to "FREE" tried backing up, forward, nothing worked. Now yes, I do know the proper procedure for getting outta low. STOP, NEUTRAL, FOOT ON BRAKE, TURN ****. I've done it 1000 times. I pulled every fuse and checked them, I hit the transfer case motor with a hammer gently to "wake it up", pulled the batteries off for 2 hours in case it was computer related, checked wires, everything I can possibly think of. So, question of the day is, now what? Both a new GEM or a new T-case motor are $$$ so I need to be careful what I buy.

And Ed and Clay, I appreciate the help over the phone today, just gotta figure this out...It's being towed home tonight to my shop so I can really be thorough. Help!

Wow Brent. Long time no see. I was hoping it would not be something like this that brings you back. Wish I had more experience to offer you. Not sure what advise you have received so far but sounds like the first thing to check is if you have juice at the plug to the trnsfer case. Good luck buddy...

Okay, here's the deal...Barry helped me out and then some on FB. It turned out to be the relays next to the fuse box under the hood. Those 2 little black boxes each have 2 relays under the cover. Pop the covers and there are 2 little 1"x1" relays under there. I swapped em around (they are interchangeable) and fired up the truck, and she popped right into 4x4 hi and then 2hi!!!!!! As far as I see it, Barry saved me about $400-$900 in parts I would have thrown at it. You'll notice my supporter tag is glowing nicely now...lol I drove home with everything working perfectly. I need to pick up a couple relays now for just in case...

By the way, without FTE my truck would be sitting in the mud or on my buddies flat bed trailer being towed home by his Dodge. If your not a supporter, you might reconsider after reading this story. $20 bucks for $900??? Sounds like a deal to me guys.

I thought so also! BTW, the relays are like $9 bucks a piece and I bought 4 just in case.
