Getting the tool, that is a never ending hunt down here...
Now using it, I never figured it out. Im sure someone on here should be able to explain it to you, and maybe me too.

Also, is this a long bed truck??
what options are on it?? Like tilt, does it have a radio? is it a xlt/larait/custom, etc?

nice to meet you Bob.

I find it nice that people on here are nice enough to help anybody with pretty much anything. The chevy fourm that i use is so stuck up! they think that people are born knowing how to make a truck run.

apparently you have to be able to turn the truck over (start it) in order to do it

a compression tester...
step 1,,, pull sparkplug from sparkplug hole...
Step 2... attach matching threaded fitting to the long hose for tester...
Step 3... screw hose with matching threaded fitting into recently vacated hole..
step 4... connect pressure gauge to the end of the other end of the hose
step 5.. varies..Distributor vehicles pull coil wire off distributor and keep it away from gas lines... Multicoil pack vehicles pull all ignition fuses...
Step 6.... crank vehicle let it get 2 or 3 revs...
Step 7... read gauge
Step 8... put plug back in hole and repeat through rest of cylinders
and they should... but you could probably get one for cheap off either their shelves or one from sears...

yea i had that problem when i was restoring my camaro

Right now I dont have a way up there. If i could get up there or meet you half way Id be able to do it. Insurance has an appointment for my truck on monday at 1715 hours. If they will fix it I may be able to get up there.

What is the least you would take for it??

whats the most you'd pay for it lol - gimme a call and i'll give a lot more wiggle room lol

If it wont start, the most id give is $400. If you could get it to run and do the compression test, id give the full $800 assuming that the rings and head is ok.

I can call anytime after 0800 tomorrow. I just got my phone bill paid today and it wont be reconnected till then...
