2WD to 4WD

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been around, been cleaning up so new land I bough. Anyways. Mom is willing to buy this old truck for me if the guy will sell it so I can make my 250 4WD, I am NOT repeat NOT doing a D60, It the Dana 50 TTB, and I want to know how easy it will be. I know I will need the spring mounts, but other then that I assume its jsut replace my stock I beams with the Dana's. I assume it should go pretty quick, am I right? Am I wrong? And I am going with this cause I want go as easy as possible. Also I like the Dana 50. Anyways, thanks guys for your time.

EDIT: Also I would be using its transfer case (Its a manual case) and I was wondering would I have to get a special drive shaft, cause my truck is 8 ft with a super cab. and this truck is crew cab and looks like it had a long bed (No bed on it so IDK) or would taking the tail shaft off and putting this transfer case on be okay? I want to know so I know what to expect. I want this to go quickly as possible.

I actually may be able to help you out with this one..

I am doing the same swap but in reverse of what you have going on! I have a CC lwb Duals that I am converting to 4 wheel drive, as mine is 2 wheel drive. My donor truck is an extended cab that has the 4 wheel drive I am taking off for mine.

The front driveline will be the same size in any of the truck configurations as for length. The rear however, I am still working on with measurements. I have some mocking up to do today, and more measurements, so tonight or tomorrow I should have better answers. But by everything I have seen so far I am going to have to pitch my Ext cab driveline in the rear, as the length of my CC will be longer then what the donor has.

I am still mapping out everything as I go here, but like I said, I should have measurements and specs on the swap soon. I will be using the current D50 (and with a little help here at FTE, will be swapping hubs for the dual set-up). Eventually when I find a good deal on a D60 I will swap again. In the mean time, I will be using the D50 and mocking it up to the frame on my 2-wheel drive. I am posting pics as I go in the "Diesel General" section.

Hey Midwest, send me a link to the thread, and lol dont pitch the extended cabs drive line lol I may need it. Seriously. But yeah I will appreciate it all. And I was figuring on cutting and welding the drive shaft, and turn it so its smooth, then have a machine shop check it for balance. But there is no local machine shop so yeah.

Mine is a F350 and I did put in a D60. As far as the mounts go, it's not much different. I did the 4wd conversion over Christmas. There's lots of pics in my gallery under RSK install. I did the Sky RSK which made the whole thing easier. Hopefully I can help. It was only a few months ago.
As for the driveshaft, you'll probably have to have the length adjusted. I had to have the front and rear driveshaft lengths changed. I took the tranny, transfer case, etc off an reg. cab chassis cab and put it under my CC LB.
