my water seporater leaks from i believe the bottom of the unit where that thing screws on the bottom of the filter.... i think it screws on doesnt it? is there a O-ring down there or something that commonly leaks? i havent tried to take it apart so i dont know whats in there? a
Where is it leaking from, the bottom drain valve, or the whole thing? There is a bigger o ring that goes around the whole unit when you screw it on. Then there's a flat o-ring that the drain thing squeezes when you tighten it. Mine leaked a few weeks ago, and I couldn't find any flat o rings that would fit in there. So all I did was turn the old one over and it hasn't leaked since. You'll know what I'm talking about after you have it all apart. Or you can buy a filter that has the drain already built into it, then you can discard that bottom piece of your set up.
All the sensor is for is to display the "Water in Fuel" idiot lite.
For the average person, I would keep the sensor, however I check mine just about every time I'm under the hood, and always shortly after fueling ... Could care less about the IDIOT light!
Get the sensor one ... Less hassle for the operator.
