Hey everyone, I was trying to troubleshoot my truck tonite and ran across this forum. hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. My truck is a 2000 F-350 wrecker with a 7.3/AT. Truck has approx. 340k on it, It had a hypertech chip, cold air intake and aftermarket exhaust. Earlier today, I was towing a 30ft camping trailer/toybox that was left stranded by it's tow vehicle. All started out good when after a couple miles, it felt like the trailer brakes were dragging.. my truck lost power, the boost gauge was up to 22psi, and the egt's were a hair over 1000. I got teh trailer dropped and limped it home.. it ran smoothly (no missing) just no power. I changed the fuel filter that didn't cure it. I pulled the codes and got 4... 1249, 1690,1209, and 1211. I checked the oil level in the hpop, it's full. The engine cranks for a long time before it starts and to me it acts like a gas motor does when flooded. I'm stumped! any help would be greatly appreciated! Chad

Just throwing this out. You need to test your fuel pressure. It sounds like your pump might be weak and not supplying enough pressure, this can cause the symptoms listed. There are other things also, but this is my first gut instinct based on the description.
Nope, never skipped a beat, just lost power. Not sure on the cam sensor, i've only owned it since last oct. It has never stalled on me. Do these things have a fuel regulator that could be allowing fuel to bypass and not build pressure?

No regulator on there. If your pump comes on when you turn the key on, you could put a hose and bucket under the valve on the fuel bowl. Open the valve the turn the key on and you should get a good flow of fuel out of the hose. If you get just a little flow, you should check the pump.
First, go to ford and buy TWO cps, they are 25 dollars each. Put one in the engine, and one in the glove box (this prevents the first from ever going bad, lol)
If that dont help, pull off valve covers and check the under valve cover harness. My truck towed like crap, but ran decent not under load, and my pass side uvch was nearly all the way unplugged. Do the 50 cent mod while the cover is off no matter how the plug was connected. YouTube - 2001 F350 7.3L Turbo Diesel, UVCH
fuel pressure needs a special fitting to go on the side of the fuel bowl, so that may be more tricky. you can tap the existing plug to 1/16 and use an oil pressure gauge on the wiper of your truck as a quick solution.
Ok, I hooked it to my buddy's OTC genesis today after uninstalling the hypertech programming and ran a KOER self test. It gave me a P1211 code. According to the troubleshooter, the prescribed fix is to replace the injector pressure regulator. I ordered up the part, but it won't be in until saturday morning. I also noticed when i had it in the shop that the exhaust smelled more like a kerosene turbo heater than diesel exhaust. I added some fuel treatment and since the tank was down to 1/4 i topped it off. That didn't seem to make a difference tho. Is any of this sounding familiar to anyone?
