Drove a F350 Lariat SB today. I'm not exactly a subjective reviewer because I have one on order now. Here's my thoughts after 27 miles of neighborhood, city and freeway driving:
Suspension is firm and responsive. Long gone are the days of kidney-busting bounces over rough roads. It is not mushy either. It feels like a Ford, not a Chevy.
Powerful. I haven't felt that kind of acceleration since high school hot-rodding days. I didn't really even get after it on the freeway on-ramp but man, it moves. Half throttle and I was at 75 on a short on-ramp before the merge.
Quiet, quiet, quiet, yet you don't lose the diesel sound. Perfect balance in my opinion.
Interior was tight, comfortable and pleasant. Seats heat fast and air cool fast as well. I found the cooling to be quite invigorating. Like someone blowing cool air across my, uhhh..., yeah.
Dash display is incredibly sharp and easy to read. You'd think the software developers were already through multiple releases, not the first because it's very intuitive and easy to use.
Storage space under back seats is cool. Lockable and quickly accessible.
What didn't I like? It was raining. Also, there are no rear air/heat controls. I can hear the kids now, "Dad, it's too cold."
Just my thoughts gentlemen. Can't wait for mine to be built.
Obviously there is some interest in these trucks, as that same truck had 144 miles on it when I test drove it late on Saturday. I was so blown away with that truck that I would've bought it on the spot if I had the finances. I've never been so impressed with a truck as a whole as I was with that 2011 SuperDuty! It absolutely blew away my friend's 2010 fully-loaded Duramax that I drove just 2 days before this new Ford. And I agree with the above post in that the interior of this truck feels like a luxury car, not a powerful new truck.
i drove a 250 fx4 today and it was amazing. if i could have traded my 09 for it i would have on the spot. didnt like the 65k sticker price though. i love how the dash display is. full color with cool settings. i love the offroad mode on the display . i wish my f150 had that.
