Fuel issue

1989 F-250 Lariat, Dual tanks. Front tank shows full however when selected truck dies. Filter issue or something else?

Check to see if your front in-tank fuel pump runs when you switch to it.

How do I do that? Have not worked on older trucks in a long time.

You can select the front tank, take the fuel cap off and listen while someone turns on the key. You should hear it run for one second each time the key is turned on. You might have to unplug the frame pump if the frame pump makes too much noise. That way you will know that you are hearing the right pump.
