Noise?
This noise in my '79 always has been bothering me and I cannot quite pinpoint it. When I give it gas, it makes a whirring/vaccum-motor-like noise between the engine and transmission. It is not as loud on the highway as it is at low speeds. I have the 351M and C6 trans.
Any ideas?

It makes that noise only when I give it gas. If I'm at a dead stop and I press down the gas pedal halfway, it's loouuud!
Vaccum leak? Wouldn't be surprised.

If you have a fan w/o a clutch it'll always turn with the motor.. Being very loud. Id go with a clutch fan, or totoally do away with the fan and use an electric fan with a thermostat.
