I'm about to switch from LLS to Coil Springs on the rear of my '98 2x4.
I'm probably going to go with OEM or MOOG springs.
I keep reading some posts on here that mention replacing/adding Spring Isolators.
Is this something I need to purchase as well? Or are they already on the truck?
I notice most of the aftermarket kits do not mention anything about their kit containing spring isolators. In fact, the strutmasters video on youtube doesn't mention it or show it.
So.... Do I need to purchase these? Or should I be good to go? I don't want to be half way through the job to find out I need another part.

I'm not certain but I believe the "spring isolators" are the rubber insulators placed on the ends of the springs from the factory. Sometimes they are in the form of a fitted pad and sometimes they look like pieces of slotted rubber hose that goes on the ends of the coils. The aftermarket spring suppliers usually only provide a square of rubber gasket material in place of the OEM isolators/insulators.
You will need the Isolators or you will have a lot of noise from the springs rubbing on the mounts.l
Thanks Moto Mel. That's kind of what I was speculating myself. What I find odd is that most of the aftermarket kits do not come with them, there is nothing in the instructions about them that come with the aftermarket kits, and event StrutMasters own YouTube video doesn't mention them.
I didn't know if it was something already built in above/below the existing airbags.

Based on their video I have to say that Isolators/Insulators are not needed, I'll check my service manual in a few minutes and let you know. My experience with coil conversions are based on my experiences with Mark VIIIs.
