1986 302 that needs help

Okay this is my first ford truck my grandpa gave it to me he bought it new it has 82,000 miles on it a its a slug what can i do to help it out (cam/rocker/exhaust/injectors) not sure it has a 3:55 rear axle with aod trans. 2wd

Ditch the 302.these trucks are too big for the 302,a nice 351 would make it respond better.IMO
