2.3 engine swap
Got a 1992 ranger in great shape body wise, but has blown engine. ITs got the 2.3 with the 8 plugs and 5 speed tranny. I got 2 other rangers a 1987 thats got a 2.3 with distributor and man trans. then i got a 1989 thats got the 2.9. Both trucks bodys are ragged out. Rusted pretty bad. The 2.3 should bolt right up in place of mine. But my question is how am i going to get my iginition all to work. Also will the 2.9 swap over pretty easy to the 1992 with the 2.3. any information would be greatly appreciated.

Swap the older 2.3L engine into the '92 Ranger and then remove the head off the old 8 plug engine and have that rebuilt if needed and then install that on the 2.3L you just put in. Now you have no ignition wiring problems!
