After getting on the throttle to pass someone this morning I noticed my engine light was on. Thing is the truck seems to be running great, lots of power, great fuel mileage. The engine light came back on as soon as I started it back up after getting fuel. I hope to have time tomorrow to find out what code it is throwing.

My 06 6.0 did the same the other night ! Never had a light before and while driving engine light came on, no codes. I believe the is emisson related. Anyways i disconnected my batteries and light is gone...still dont know why it came on !
Ok here it goes
P0261
P0264
P0641
P0098
P3B00
P173B
P0017
I am going to start researching these. I know 2 of them are injector related and 2 are Ford specific. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I did have an injector replaced 2 months ago. Is it possible they did not clear the codes?? The mechanic did not reset them he said his reader would not reset the Ford specific so my light would probably stay on. I am going to try the battery trick and see what happens and have it checked again in a few weeks.
Probably too much boost. My 04' does that occasionaly due to the banks exhaust system. More boost equals turbo temperature. Faulty reading imo here. Soon as it cools off my engine light goes off.

Still no luck finding these codes. I am about to go and perform the PCM relearn to see if I can clear the CEL. I went down the road earlier and when I started it cold the RPMs jumped around three times and the truck made a popping/woofing sound, smoothed out, and ran fine. Some black smoke on start up, but after that there was not any smoke.
If anyone knows anything about the above mentioned codes please let me know. They do not show up in anything I have looked at.
Thanks

Thank you!!!
I just returned from the 1/2 hr drive part of the re-learn. No more light, and the truck is running great. 18.5 MPG varying speeds from 25 to 65. I still plan on rechecking for codes in a few days to see if anything comes up.
