Trans Swap

Okay, I have an 89 F150 2wd with the 4.9l and an auto transmission. This truck is lifted a total of 6 inches. I am interested in buying an 89 F150 4x4 with the 5.0 and ther manual trans. My question is would the trans from the 2wd be able to be installed on the 4wd? I prefer the auto over manual. I will post the actual transmissions from both trucks as soon as I have the information. Thanks for the help.

Nope, 2x4 and 4x4 transmissions have different extension housings and main shafts. It would require completely disassembling and rebuilding the trans to convert it to 4x4
