1984 6.9L starting problems
ive got a 1984 f-250 with a 6.9L diesel with around 180000 miles (not exactly sure, odometer went out a year or two ago). bought the truck with 160k so i dont know a lot of repair history/ whats new on the truck. its got an ats turbo but no other modifications. im having serious starting issues- when i crank it over it kicks right off but then shuts off immediately, even if i start it with the accelorator pedal on the floor. it used to be ok when i started it with the pedal depressed but now no such luck. to finally get it to run again i have to crank it over for a good 30 seconds with the pedal on the floor until it gets running, and once it does run it idles smoothly and drives with no problems. this only happens when its cold, after its warm it starts up nicely and also runs smoothly. glow plugs are new and wired to a push button switch. im guessing a fuel problem, maybe a broken fuel pump? or could it be the injection pump? i wanted to check with someone before tearin anything apart so please let me know of any suggestions. thanks for your help in advance
cheers
That would be Injector Return Lines ... You'll need a Injector Installation kit with Viton O-Rings...
