Well went to go get freebie from Duanes house. Poor Duane Packing wasn't going as planned-- and he was having a rough time.. So we hooked up to freebie on the tow bar and made it all the eway into wichita-- when the rear end locked up--- probably a cage bearing-- but the truck would not roll forward-- only backward-- weird...so Have you ever tried to back a truck on to a trailer while it is hooked to a tow bar? angles go wrong-- ramps move-- blabbity blabbity-- but we got it loaded then had to unhook and rehook up-- blabbity blabbity
anyhoo we're home but now I have to put a new rearend under it so that Thomas can roll it around ect ect-- good thing I think I have one.
Ya know he might have a point dude, I never thought of it but there could be a chance that one rear shoe could have gotten mud under it or a spring broke, if so the shoe would allow the tire to turn one way and not the other and since the rear is welded it would stop both tires.
but you did say the diff was a little hot so it could still be a bearing but it was a thought anyways.
further inspection shows a small hole in the dif cover--- I'm betting that aint good. Good thing we have the other rear end to put under it. Hope the ring and pinion are still good, that way Thomas can have 410 gears.
