there's lots of places that sell adapters. try classic haulers, but there's lots more. you'll have to cut the tranny crossmember and shorten the driveshaft. new radiator, wiring, exhaust......ect

welcome to the site. norvillebob is the color of your truck meadow green?
I depends on which cross member you use I saw a full replacement member on ebay , but most just cut the middle out. there's a secondary bracing the for support.
My truck is hunter green, it was originally "smoke grey"
You might consider putting a OHV 6 cylinder, 223 ci, into the truck. Does it still have the original trans? It would be a bolt-in. Lots of those engines around.
Welcome to FTE, now if you have to cut the crossmember out, I used the tranny opening and some angle iron as my guide for the saw. Then reused the piece I cutout for the tranny mount point.
if cutting out a piece bothers you make a filler that will go below and extend / cover the gap , but it shouldn't hurt anything as your going to have too put another x member in further back for the trans mount . if ya wanna do a six hades go find just about any old ford truck from the late 60's up and put a big ol' 300 in it . plenty of goodies available for 'em too . personally i'll go with a flatty or like julie an f.e big block . they both suck down lot's of dead dino's and irk the environmentalists , make lots of torque and are different than the belly buttons ... a.k.a 5.0's and s.b.c's that proliferate the ranks . or we got another newbie jumpin in way over the top and gonna stick a 4.6 out of a lightning in one ...........................
I have been given a 52 - F1 without a motor. I have a 1980 302 with a C4 trans.
What is the easiest way to install the engine. I just joined this forum today and am not sure what I am doing.
Welcome to the forum. You probably want to use the 302/C4 because it's something you already have. Been there and done that. The 302 will fit without too much hassle. I haven't finished the installation on mine yet (winter caught up with me last year) but I do have the motor mounts roughed in and made my own transmission mount for the AOD. I used 79 T-Bird motor mounts and 65-66 Mustang exhaust manifolds and plan to use a 68 Mustang radiator for a 390. Check out my gallery under 1949 Ford Pickup...
