I took the line loose on the filter pot and to the back of the engine to blow the line out to see if it was pluged up a bit and to see if that is why the oil sending unit wasn't working. Line was clear but got the line and the fitting on the engine crossed treaded so now I had to buy a new fitting for the engine. Need someone with small hands to screw the darn thing in the engine. My hands are to big to fit between the place where it goes. ( stupid right.) Maybe my next door neighgor will come over to help. One misstake after another. Lucky the outo parts store had the engine fitting in stock.
...and lets not even mention the fact that we can't see a thing back there without the aid of a drop light with about 2 billion suns worth of candlepower. Of course, even if we had a drop light like that it would fall over and shine right in your eyes blinding you even further so that you couldn't see a thing and when you reached over to move it you would burn the tar out of your arm causing yourself to jump backwards only to wham your head against the hood.......
Jules has the right idea, grab a frosty beverage and call over one of the neighbor kids with small hands and good eyes
That's funny cause I was thinking the same thing and the kid next door. I know he will come over and help cause he just loves the old 52 and if I give him a ride in it he'll be happy.
Well this morning my son in law came over and got the darn thing started in the hole for me and got it all hooked with no oil leak but still no oil pressure so I wait till the new sending unit gets here to see if it works or not. I have my fingers crossed that the sending unit is the problem and not something else. Thanks for the advice and information as alway great people are on this thread.
