A quick and easy bolt thread size question.

What size/thread of bolt is used for bolting the C4 trans bellhousing to a small block engine like a 289, 302 or a 351?

When I had access I never paid attention.

Thank you, the length does not matter as I'm bolting it to an adapter plate bolted to a Buick 215, and I need to thread the adapter in an appropriate size to fit the bellhousing.

If it's an early 5 bolt 289/C4 then they are 3/8 NC bolts.
