this has been a problem I have had for a few years. It is just kind of annoying and I wonder if It is a sign of worse things to come.
I have an Aux. Idle controller in this truck. It was in it when I got it. there is a 500 RMP Difference between the stock Tach and the controller. The Stock Tach reads 500 RPMS higher. than the controller..I think the controller is accurate . Now I have put 2 different CPS's in and it has not fixed it.
I really wish I could get this Resolved so that I do not have to look down at the floor area at the Aux.Idle to see RMPs.
I would really love help resolving this. If any one here has any thoughts please send them My way.
Thanks a Ton.
Pull the needle off the factory tach and push it back on in a different position so that it will read correctly, sounds like someone had the cluster apart at some point and didn't get the needle back on in the right spot. The AIC should be 100% accurate.
That sound like it would fix the problem or at least be a work around,, but there is some sort of underlying cause since it did not do it when I first got the truck. I have not removed the needle or had it seviced by any body. Also when I first noticed the probelm it was because I the needle would be correct then Jump up 500 RPMS
