I have an 03 6.0. Been using AMSOIL and love it. I have an <NOBR style="FONT-FAMILY: verdana, geneva, lucida, 'lucida grande', arial, helvetica, sans-serif; COLOR: darkgreen; FONT-SIZE: 100%; FONT-WEIGHT: normal" id=itxt_nobr_1_0>Edge</NOBR> with attitude to monitor temps. Once I learned of suspected problems that could occur with my head gaskets I turned the tuner off until I can change studs and gaskets. I have recently noticed engine oil temps during normal driving average about 210-218 and my coolant is about 182-186. Towing is a completly different. My oil topped out at 240. I checked my degas tank for evidence of oil. Nothing. Will switching to 5W-40 help? I have had my coolant system flushed to try and clear one side of the oil cooler. No luck. Anyone seen this and what was the fix. I am pretty sure two things. Delete EGR cooler and replace oil cooler.

Gaskets aren't the issue, it's the TTY bolts that are the issue at this point. You'll have to replace gaskets, but don't think the gaskets are the issue, it's the bolts. Stock gaskets are fine. These aren't the 02-04 Mustang gaskets we are talking about here, where they were too thin on one side.
While you're at it, get rid of the Edge, if you like how it monitors get a the Edge Insight. The Edge Atitude isn't really tuning your vehicle, shift on the fly tuners are really mutually exclusive from truly tuning the vehicles. In fact, if you are going to delete the EGR cooler or bypass the EGR system you are going to have to get rid of your Edge anyway and get a custom tuner, otherwise you can have issues with having a truck that things the EGR is still active when it's not.

Deleting the EGR cooler isn't necessary in two different scenerios.
1. You can actually have a reliable truck with one being active even with a truck that is tuned, you just have to make sure how you drive the vehicle.
2. You can bypass the EGR cooler, but the EGR cooler is still there. A little bit cheaper then deleting the EGR.
I can understand not wanting to pay for another when you pay for an oil cooler, but don't think that it is necessary that you delete the EGR cooler.
With regard to delete kits, I've seen a couple of recent threads on kits and they don't do anything with the EGR valve, make sure you do something with that EGR valve.

This is exactly what I am experiancing right now. I just orderd my EGR delete from Liberator and dieselsite coolant filter today. In the next day or two I will be picking up my oil cooler kit. I knew it was just a matter of time.

Be sure you do something with that EGR valve and with the truck's programming. That delete kit specifically doesn't do anything for the EGR valve.
Tex I was gonna take the wait and see approach. I was speaking with Shawn at Liberator and he told me that in his experiance that with my truck, an 06 F-350, there is a 50% chance I would get a check engine light. If I dont get the light, do I still need to do programing? Not a big deal to me if I have to, I just want to do it right the first time. Thanks.
Depending on where you are, the CEL light being on is reason to fail an inspection in many jurisdictions.
Rather or not the CEL light is on, if there is an emissions related code will make you have to come back to get re-tested here.
My personal choice would be to go ahead and get tune(s) with the EGR disabled. If you don't want to change hp/tq outputs then that's fine, you can do that with custom tuning. I would just go ahead and get the tuning, even if it doesn't throw a CEL, you could still have a code in there.
Also, the tune(s) would tell the truck not to look for something that it would otherwise be looking for. Think of it as "the right hand not knowing what the left is doing" without the tuning.
