Quick ZF 5spd Question
Only time I use 1st is when loaded, or taking off in a steep hill.
I've never even tryed shifting into 1st while moving in the 20 years i've owned the truck.
It'd be cool to find a local to work with. I have a neighbor but
he's into "automatics only". ...same work, more money! ;)
Law, search using... *ZF* and see where I described how to
take a ZF apart and put it back together. It's easy no kidding.
My favorite ZF picture... :)

...heck, fun's over. :/
But, one guy's "stopped" is another guy's "barely moving".
If you've driven a pickup with a T18 in it, you'll know exactly
what I mean there. :)
For me, the ZF doesn't need to be "all the way stopped" to
shift into 1st (and reverse too!) ZF seems way different to me. ;)
There have been a thousand times I could have used a T19's
synchro-ed 1st and reverse over the 35 years I've had my '75
pickup with a T18. Sometimes I'd shift anyway and repeat the
chant... "can't find 'em grind 'em :)" and go on my way. LOL :)
Looking at the teeth on my T18's 1st and reverse gears, they
all still look like new, no kidding. Didn't shift like that often,
and then only when needed, and never out of anger. YMMV

Don't know if it go in 1st while moving tho, maybe i've have to try that before retirering the truck. Maybe it will go in cause I always double clutch and rev match when I down shift. I've always love doing that in any standard i've driven, makes such a smooth downshift you can't even feel it, and it's alot easier on the clutch.
Thanks again for all the help
