Military Thanks!
If you are so inclined, visit the Department of Defense web page below and sign a brief message thanking the men and women of the U.S. military services for defending our freedom. The compiled list of names will be sent out to our soldiers at the end of the month. So far, there are only about 2,400,000 names. What a shame. There should be hundreds of millions of "thank yous." Pass the word that we can honor and support the defenders of freedom.

That looks like an official website to me, but consider this:
It could develop a list of names of active duty people or those who support them that may end up available to the wrong people.
The last thing on earth I personally need is to have information collected by an outside source as to the names of my fellow service people that could be used by an outside source with unknown intentions!
I for one have a family at home that owns guns, but is otherwise unprotected while I'm away. When I see e-mails such as that, I block and delete them immediately. Unfortunately some of my comrades in arms are not that bright and will forward anything that looks hip slick and cool.
Therefore I have a question; was it linked to by an official site of the US Government? If not, it may be bogus.
Don't be gulled - it may not be as cool as you think.
