Brake caliper question?

Ok this might be a stuppid question but does the front brake caliper push in or screw in? I am going to put front brakes on and don't want to start and then have to put everything back to gether to go get the thing to screw it in. I did the back last year and I think it screwed in but do not know about the front. Thanks

Hi Tim, If memory serves, the front merely compresses.Typically the rears will screw in because of the emergency brake system.Cant say for sure, but ive seen alot of cars with the same system,as a matter of fact my wifes 02 Impala screws in on the rear, and compresses on the front.

Both front and rear on 01 screw just push in . The rear have parking brake inner shoes that are independent of the rear caliper brakes. I have never seen fronts that screw in .
