Question 429 Casting Question

Alright guys, I need some expert information. I have a 429 that I was told was origionally out of a 1972 Mercury Marquis and was an interceptor motor. I have the casting number off of the heads and wanted to know if someone out there can tell me for sure what I have on my hands. The number is DOVE-C. Any information would be very appreciated. i.e. is this the high compression motor, good power potential, year, in other words: Good, bad, or, ugly.

Thanks guys..

429 Casting Question

Good early high compression heads, 75-77 cc chambers. A 72 429 would not have come with D0VE-C heads. More like D2 or D3's. What is the cast number of the block? Reguardless it has potential. From mild to wild!

429 Casting Question

Thanks Fordzzzz77 for the info. I got the block casting number today. It is, DIVE-6015-AA. Another question I have is; what is the best cam setup to use to produce that low end stump pulling grunt and what modifications, if any, are required to run that cam?
