Cool Settling a disagreement

Hi,

First off let me apologize for dragging you all into my personal life.

Somebody overweight worked for the oil co that owned my 2000 F-350 before mne, so therefore, the driver's seat is all broken down & ripped. Basically, being 23 & broke/disabled I need a different seat, so therefore I am hitting the local you pull it junk yards, but as I am sure some of you know, a Super Duty in there is pretty well stripped. My father thinks seats have to be vehicle specific, but the seats out of an Expedition look the same. Are they? What seats out of what vehicles will fit? Thank you very much

Since the F250/350/Excursion is a couple inches wider than the F150/Expedition chassis, I'd suspect the floor pan is not the same. With the differences in the floor pans, I'd suspect either the bolt holes will not line up, or the brackets will be different enough to not just bolt in.

Now it is possible that if you strip the tracks off the 150 seats, you might be able to put the 250 tracks on it or atleast modify the 150 seats to accept them. However, have you checked with any upholstery shops? I've had a seat repaired for under $100, it included a new panel of cloth and a good bit of foam.

Another idea is if the seats look pretty similar, you could pull the foam and the cover off and put it on your seat. Might be cheaper and you don't have to match up as many options.

Seats from an Excursion will mount up.

The Expedition is based on the F-150, which won't work in the Super Duty cabs without some engineering on your part.

As mentioned, get new foam for your seats, strip the old stuff off, repair any broken springs you find.

Good advice by Redford!

An auto upholstery shop can make a tired old frame feel much better than new, and look perfectly stock or better.

When my driver's seat goes (it's still great at 195,000), that's what I'm doing.

If I am not mistaken, Excursions and F-250-750 will all interchange without modification.
