I am going to twin turbo my 390FE and am trying to get an idea of what turbos to use. If any one has any input that would be great.

 

get a couple off of turbo mustangs or tbirds. they are a garett hybrid trubo. very quick spooling. shouldn't be too hard to find them in the junk yards. or you can get a couple off of mistubishi eclipse turbos, just get ones off of 5spd cars. the autos didnt produce as much boost.

 

for the rpm range that the fe will run in, twins wont really be of any benefit.

i would go with a single large unit like found on most full size diesels or even better a custom unit tailored to your rpm range and displacement

 

ok guy's I was on the fe corner and was told that my turbo off a 7.3 would be to big and slow to spool up so now I have a variable gate off a 6 lt. but the damm thing is computer controlled and I don't know (yet ) how to override the controller or what voltage to feed it..this is a low buck build and I'm sure I'm gonna blow up something..has anyone accualy done this in the last 10 years??we have 2 answers and 2 directions here..any practical experiance??
