What is the alternator output voltage? This week mine started flashing and now stays on full time. Alternator is charging but only to 12.05 volts. So i guess it is just "weak" and the truck sensed it. When it came on and stayed on I was 2 hours from home at night and I drove home no problem with headlights on and truck still started in the morning so there are no driving problems. My alternator is going in to get rebuilt Monday. Napa wants $170 for a replacement, I have a local DC rebuilder (mainly alternators and starters) who has rebuilt many of each for me and the most he has ever charged was $75 for a F-800 starter (huge) that was completly fried and the gears were blown out. Also when I was examining the alternator today I noticed the power wire on the back had a very corroded terminal on the back (about half of the wire strands were broken), so tonight I cut the ring connector off the wire and crimped a new one on.
