Well I finally got my DJM dropped I-beams installed. It took me longer then expected but hopefully when the slick is all put back together it will look good. Also, here's a lesson learned- If you have the Radius Arms on the truck, do not try attaching your I-beams to the Radius Arm before attaching the I-beam to the frame. Here are some pics of what I got so far:
Looks really good! I just did that a few month's ago so I know where you're at. That blue looks to be the same original color as mine, although someone has since painted it some sort of purple. I don't see rust holes on the cab... that's a good thing!
jmf- yeah the only rust spot is on the tailgate and there was some on the rad support.
dman- I didn't use new springs but I was thinking of getting new ones. I'm still in the process of getting everything else installed and fixed but I will see how many inches it actually dropped. The wheels really bow out right now but I guess that's because there is no weight with out the engine in.
Right now, the best deal is on Moog springs through Amazon. I got the Moog CC308 variable-rate springs shipped to my door for $73.
I replaced the stock ones after I had rebuilt the front-end and had everything back together... it's pretty easy the 2nd time with the engine out and the bolts coated with anti-seize.
