2001 Conversion Van Shock Absorbers

Need to replace the shocks on my 2001 E150 Conversion van, tried stock but without success. Stock pre-1999 are too soft, stock 2001 "handling package" are too stiff making the van shake badly. Have to mention that the van runs on 16" 265 tires.

Anyone that runs a conversion van on aftermarket shocks? Any recommendations?

Thx /ekkehard

You probably have to deal with worn springs first.

Plus.. those are huge tires --- which mean more stress on the front end.

Check for worn u joints, tie rods, etc. first.

Try the KYB's, they are suppose to take up the slack from warn parts w/o being to stiff.

Well, my van is very heavy (4x4) and I put on dual Ranchero RS5000 shocks. You can download the catalog and match up a shock to match your mounting points and go from there. You can get them with different valve rates etc.

Maybe the E150 Clubwagon is the closest you can get to a Conversion van, with regard to weight and ride comfort requirements, could these shocks be suitable? Is the clubwagon a heavier vehicle than the standard van?

I just put in Bilsteins... LIKE WOW!
they are just wow.
I like and would recommend.
A little on the pricey side, but from everything I heard/read they will out last and out perform all others.

I have a E350 PSD, extended.
