Had our first irragation of the season this week. Went out back an saw we had low flow...was about to call the folks, then looked down the ditch and noticed where my neighbors had put in thier new fence over the winter, they dug out half the ditch bank...
Water was just "oozing" int o thier backyard...so I just let it go, went and spoke to them (for about the 10th time) about leaving my ditch alone.
"yes"...they knew their workers used some of the dirt on the ditch bank to "level" their fence lne.
"(neighbor speaking) You can get more dirt can't you?"
I just shook my head, said "yes, I can", and was glad my homeowners insurance was paid up.
I told them to start dumping dirt over the fence to build the ditch up, or be prepared to wake up one morning with 6 inches of water in thier house.
Man, I gotta hit the freaking lottery just to buy them out and eliminate my headaches!
I don't know Mike. It seems like as long as you're 2 steps ahead of them it might make for good watchin' at times like when they dig out the levee... As long as they're not too noisy and the water flows through their house, what's to keep you from kicking up your feet and having a beer?
