I cant figure this out, I had tires balanced put new Moog Ball joints, Rancho 5000 shocks and still am having problems. When driving im all over the road " left to right" I cant seem to keep it straight, and forget about it if I hit a bump, I just hold on for the ride, when im turning, the steering wheel wont go back to straight on its own" I can turn 360 degrees without holding the wheel. If I just brely turn the wheel it takes off in that direction then I have to turn it the other direction to correct then back and forth. WTF?????? any help would be greatly appriciated.
Its 4WD, and I have not had the alignment checked, but it dosent seem to be off, it is really bad when i hit a bump, its all over the road, and I am really confused about the steering not returning to straight after a turn, the wheels will stay in a turn if I dont force them back to straight.
Thanks for the reply's guys I am new here and this is really good site "the welth of information is priceless"
I doubt if it is the caster. That would just create a small issue which would be as small as the caster is out, continously, and in both directions. Disconnect your steering damper and make sure both axles are turning freely when it is in 2WD. If there is slop in the steering gear adjust it out. Make sure your PS oil is good and full and your PS belt is tight and good.
