Well, I'm finally installing my intercooler! Got it in yeterday, actually. Still have to do all the piping and my new Ford Racing boost guage. I'll keep you posted and get some pics up as well.
As for the bad, that bad injector got worse. Am in the process of finding another one to swap parts on...... Jim at Rosewood diesel may be supplying a core for the procedure. Hope so. Oh well, back to work.
I see rapid tire wear in your future Dave!
My 92 F250/7.3 has a drain back problem, if it sits for afew days I have to bleed the fuel system. I`ve been told that it`s likely the mechanical fuel pump check valve causing this. Any thoughts there Dave?
I'd think that's likely the problem, but I'm no expert. Is that right in the pump or a separate unit? You could just install an inline check valve if it's easier that way??? Not real familiar witht he IDI's.
Thanks, I should have remembered that.......I will check it out.
Today, after sitting for afew days, the 92 fired right up. Possibly when we changed the fuel fuel afew days ago that fixed the problem. I had that same thing with my International diesel truck years ago, after changing the filter the problem went away.
It could have been a weak spot (or 2) in your fuel line. My '87 Nissan diesel had exactly the same problem. And like you say, after replacing the line, it started. Glad to here it! I just got a reply from Rosewood diesel and Jim said he's hoping to get my injector built for me this week. He's the guy I got the stage 1's from back in '07.
So far I`ve got quotes from about $750 to $1,000.
I don`t have a hoist and a transmission jack so pulling the motor back out might be the only way but that`s a lot of work and time.
