coded for glow plug
Well, I usually hang out in the pre-powerstroke forum, but I have a friend who could use a little help.
He has a 2000 excursion w/a 7.3 in it. He tells me after he starts the car something on the dash shows #8 glow plug failure. He has had no hard start issues, just the light on. The vehicle has over 100k, so he just wanted to throw plugs at it.
I tried to do a search and saw something about a connector coming loose, but it was too much info for me to just hand over to him.
Is any of this stickied somewhere, or do you guys have any links saved?
Any help would be appreciated...those plugs aren't like my 1992. I could probably do mine with a cresent wrench. Pulling valve covers just to access the plugs, now that's crazy.

He needs to check his Glow Plug Control Module, on the passnger side of the valley. Either a loose, burt wire or a Glow Plug has gone out, probably the latter. Be sure he uses only Motorcraft GP's that say Beru on them. I have included a link if it helps.
