Starting problem

So i installed a ts chip from dpp not too long ago and ever since ive had problems with the wait to start light coming on, and the truck wont start if it doesnt light up, and the ses lights up until i cycle the key enough times to get the wait to start to light up and the truck will start. Its starting to get really annoying and i couldnt find any other threads relating to this problem. Any help is appreciated.

Remove the chip and see if the problem goes away.

Ditto on Kwik's advice. If the prob does go away, check the contacts on the ECM to make sure they are completely cleaned off as they should be. An intermittent connection not only will cause you issues, but it could damage your ECM and that will be another $400 - $500 for a new one depending on where you get it from.

i did take it out and cleaned the hell out of the contacts and reinstalled the chip. I'll try the truck without the chip and see. What if it works without the chip? Should i contact dpp and get a new one? Thanks

You may have cleaned the contacts too much... Just clean, not removing the copper. Better to do too little then too much.

There was a bad batch of TS chips a little while back. Got the serial number off your chip? There's a good chance it's just a bad chip. If that's it, re-burning it won't help. You'll need to trade it in on a new chip. I'm sure DPP has heard of this by now, so trading it in shouldn't be too hard, just make note of the serial number first in case you get another chip from the same box.

I've got the number off a bad TS chip somewhere.
