300 in a bronco?
However, judging by the space in front and rear of the v-8, I think the I-6 is longer and therefore wouldn't fit without major reconstruction.
With the 300 being the torque monster it is, don't think it hasn't been thought about. That would be one sweet trail vehicle!

The guy said he had title and i would recieve upon payment. well, I gave him the last payment and he said he'd get back to me on the title because his mom had the title..Well after coming to find out that his mother wanted the bronco for parts (power steering, power brakes, full hardtop etc.) And she was not coming-off with the title because she was ticked-off at me and her son.
Anyways , I had a '87 bronco with a EFI 4.9 and not much of a body left....soooo, what would you do? I decided to make them into an off-road rig.
I got the saw-zall and the torches and made the '87 body go-away,then with some modification sat the '76 body onthe fuel-injected frame..I had to beat the firewall in alittle, but did get it sat down over the straight-six.
Stage two: moved the rear axle to the front about 5 Inches and cut the leaf springs just to the rear of the dowell pin(bolt) thingy, left the front of the spring attatched. then attatched coil towers from the front of another bronco and plopped in some coil springs in the rear. Quite the project! But it is unique..the only early bronco in this area with fuel injection and 3 spd. w/overdrive! Maybe i'll snap some pics and see if I can gettem' on here somehow.
So to answer your question , yes it will fit with some modification...You could probably cut a hole in firewall and weld in a fabbed box or a dome shape..maybe a stainless steel dog bowl.
And to all the bashers: I still have the original frame and all.. it can simply be unbolted and reinstalled to original,if i get the urge.
