Knocking sound on start up?

Knocking sound on start up?
Well after a 900 mile haul with 4horses we arived safely at the in-laws
My Truck Did great. Pulled like a champ.
Well The in-laws truck is sounding a bit rough on start up. We are in Reno.
and it is not that cold here.
When their truck starts there is a louder than normal knocking sound form the moter.
I was wondering if any of you have any ideas about this.
could it just be cold? or need new GPs or Batteries.
there truck is the same as mine just and auto and has 200K.

*sniff, sniff* my wallet might have to open up for a set of injectors, i think they are getting tired. Thats what I'm suspecting. Its also been doing it a little while warm, the engine over all just sounds un-balanced sort of speak but I have heard worse so.......
