I added something new to my 83 F-150 today. Me and a bud went and pulled a bench seat from a 96 X-cab pickup today. Aside from it not matching my interior, being blue and all, it is a huge upgrade from my original 25+ year old seat that was in the truck.
I can finally drive it without having back pain, or feel like i'm sitting on the floor in the cab.
I do have a question though. The new seat has power lumbar support for both sides, how do I wire this in? Is it just a simple hot/neg connection and leave it be, or is there something else I have to fool with to get it working?
Well, not knowing the seat specifically, but having dealt with a few power seats, I would say it's likely just an always hot positive/negative connection.
I did the same thing a couple weeks ago. Got a power lumbar seat to. Haven't hooked it up yet but I imagine its just a hot and a ground wire just like anything else. It made a world of difference compared to that old junk squeaky bouncy spring seat!
