Hey guys, I joined FTE just because of this thread. I have a array of 70-72 ford trucks. I just recently picked up a 73 super camper special. Ironically this truck ended up at a buddys wrecking yard with a massive camper on it. camper was shot but the truck was in pretty amazing shape. He didnt have it in him to log the truck in for the buisness so he sold me the entire truck minus the camper. Truck was stupid striaght. almost immaculate interior. for 1k I drove it home with a dust trail behind me. I found the previous owners info in the glove box and talked with him abit. He bought the truck in 75' with 2k miles on it. Odom says 21,870. I assumed it was 121 or 221k he straight up told me he rarley drove the thing since it had the camper on it. 21k original miles! its yellow and white two tone ranger xlt 460/c6 ill try to get pictures of it posted. But wanted to get plumbed into the scs group since there really isnt anything dedicated to these particular pickups.

I was killing time looking around in the forums and ran across this. I just wanted to jump in and say I have enjoyed reading it and looking a all the pictures, they are nice as for referance. At present I still like a few finishing touches haveing my 350 finished, if that is possible, i'm beginning it thank it's a never ending thing. In years past the truck was in a finder binder and the front cap was replaced and the SCS badges were not replaced. Thanks for all the good info and pictures. Here is a picture of mine

I only know one guy who is all into Mitchell campers. You might also know me as 1972hiboy from another forum. Good to see you on here. The camper that was on the truck gave its life to keep the truck covered. Its was far beyond trashed. I had the wrecking yard remove it when I bought the truck. But I do plan on putting my Aristocrat on this truck like I did with my blue 72 4x4. I will try to get some pics tommorow and post them up.

Your '73 SCS w/21k original miles sounds awesome. Can't wait to see the pics! BTW, I found an all original massive fiberglass "Ford American Road Camper" for $800 that I am seriously thinking about buying. I'm just not sure if I have it in me for another camper resto project. Especially a project with absolutely no chance to get parts. We'll see.

Just wondering if anyone has a scs, or a 2wd 1 ton, for parts. I need a cross member, and to get one out of a wrecker truck is ridiculous hard. If you know of one sitting around or being stripped let me know. I bought a same year (75) f250 camper specialfor some part and the crossmember between the radius arm frame mounts are very different.
