1979 F-350 Lariat 140"wb Trailer Special

I just got my F-350 Lariat 140"wb with 116,000 miles, very clean with newer paint... Blue & Silver. all stock and nice interior. Has a little bondo here and there, but not bad! Engine still has all stickers and stamp markings on it! This thing seems to be loaded... AC, tilt, cruise,Lighted visor mirror. Its now in NC. were it will be out of snow!! It spent to much time in the white stuff up north!!! I plan to sand blast the frame and paint to sweetin up the under side just a bit...

Hey guys, I joined FTE just because of this thread. I have a array of 70-72 ford trucks. I just recently picked up a 73 super camper special. Ironically this truck ended up at a buddys wrecking yard with a massive camper on it. camper was shot but the truck was in pretty amazing shape. He didnt have it in him to log the truck in for the buisness so he sold me the entire truck minus the camper. Truck was stupid striaght. almost immaculate interior. for 1k I drove it home with a dust trail behind me. I found the previous owners info in the glove box and talked with him abit. He bought the truck in 75' with 2k miles on it. Odom says 21,870. I assumed it was 121 or 221k he straight up told me he rarley drove the thing since it had the camper on it. 21k original miles! its yellow and white two tone ranger xlt 460/c6 ill try to get pictures of it posted. But wanted to get plumbed into the scs group since there really isnt anything dedicated to these particular pickups.

In years past the truck was in a finder binder and the front cap was replaced and the SCS badges were not replaced. Thanks for all the good info and pictures. Here is a picture of mine
Hey beauty truck bud, loved the wheels. Im looking for new wheels myself and was wondering what kind and size those are, as they seem to have centre caps on the rear. Want to find some that will have caps large enough to fit over the dana 70 hubs

Welcome! This is a great forum with very helpful folks. Sounds like you have an awesome find and save. Looking forward to seeing the pics once posted. Do you also happen to have a pic of the truck with the camper on it? If so, it would be great to see.

I only know one guy who is all into Mitchell campers. You might also know me as 1972hiboy from another forum. Good to see you on here. The camper that was on the truck gave its life to keep the truck covered. Its was far beyond trashed. I had the wrecking yard remove it when I bought the truck. But I do plan on putting my Aristocrat on this truck like I did with my blue 72 4x4. I will try to get some pics tommorow and post them up.

Howdy 1972hiboy! Glad to see that you now also have a dent to add to your collection. I miss my '72 CS and really regret letting her go but it seemed like the right thing to do during a moment of weakness. At least I sold it to a friend of the family and he's taken very good care of her.
Your '73 SCS w/21k original miles sounds awesome. Can't wait to see the pics! BTW, I found an all original massive fiberglass "Ford American Road Camper" for $800 that I am seriously thinking about buying. I'm just not sure if I have it in me for another camper resto project. Especially a project with absolutely no chance to get parts. We'll see.

Anybody in western Wa. There is an SCS at Pick-n-Pull in Lakewood Wa that has the slide out rear bumper on it.

Also the Pick-a-part in Tumwater Wa has one sitting in the processing yard I'm waiting for them to put in.

The junkyard I was referring to is the Lakewood in the Tacoma area, not the Lakewood by Marysville.

Checking in here!

I'm in the process of building my '73. I converted it to 4wd and doing an engine and trans swap to modernize it. Hope to have it all finished and daily driver status in 5 months.

Anyone done something similar with there SCS?

Just wondering if anyone has a scs, or a 2wd 1 ton, for parts. I need a cross member, and to get one out of a wrecker truck is ridiculous hard. If you know of one sitting around or being stripped let me know. I bought a same year (75) f250 camper specialfor some part and the crossmember between the radius arm frame mounts are very different.

let me know whats out there
