Well it only took me a year and a half but I finally got it. I been after this guy to sell me this truck every since I first laid eyes on it. A little polish and some detail work and it could be sittin on a show room somewhere. It's near perfect except for the 90k miles. It's all power and everything works perfectly. I know it's a powerstroke but I can't help it, it's a diesel and thats' all it takes for me. LOL. I just had to show it off to you guys.
It's a 96 F250 XLT 4X4 Powerstroke. 5 speed, 90k miles. Power windows, locks, power lumbar seat. AM/FM cassette, tilt wheel and cruise with the coldest AC I have ever seen in a vehicle. Only thing it don't have is carpet and I like that. It is bone stock original with the only mod ever being done to it is a muffler delete. It drives better than anything I have driven in many years.
Me and this guy have been going back and forth over this truck for a year and a half. About six weeks ago he finally agreed to let me have it and we agreed on a price of 8k. Only problem was he was out of state on a job and he said he would get it to me as soon as he could. Well after six weeks of waiting on it he called me thursday nite and said he would be home Friday morning and I could pick it up then but there was a problem. He sounded like he was about to cry. I thought rut roah, whats wrong? He said he had parked it near a mailbox at work so it would be outta the way and when he got in it to go he forgot about it and pulled away and hit the mailbox. Put a scratch on the passenger door, no dent, just a scratch. Said he couldn't believe he had that thing for 14 years and never scratched it then he does something like that. I thought no big deal. So I get there Friday morning to pick it up and the first thing he says to me is, "well since I scratched it I'm gonna let you have it for 7k". I just laughed and told him "hell, go scratch it again". LOL My bud that owns a body shop is gonna fix the scratch for me next week.
Oh, BTW. To get it ready for me he took it a couple weeks ago and had 8 new glow plugs installed, 2 new batteries installed and a new windshield installed in it.
sounds like one of dem der FARMERS. treatin his rig with wreckless abandon. Nice truck. I was lusting after a '97 just like it a couple months ago that they wanted $12,000 for. 97,000 miles but it was dern near showroom shape.
oh thats a nice rig.congrats.
downpipe/exhaust and a chip, and she'll roast the tires off her (the right chip alone, can give more than a turbo can to an IDI lol).
good luck!
Ummm, nice truck but no thanks. My dream truck is '94-'97 reg cab 4X4 manual trans diesel. You know, farm truck but not farm used, am I asking too much? The one I had eyed up was reg cab FWD 5spd diesel power everything but a 250. I'd much prefer a 350 cause I'm kinda partial to that solid tube runnin under the front end...
