We had an inspector come out. He checked everything, plugs, switches, etc. But this could either be the stove alone or a deeper electrical issue. My dad thinks the stove is broke and back fed 240 across the wires to make the light get bright. But it should have tripped the breaker.

Your dad might be right and yes it should have thrown the breaker!

Everything checked out ok. Found out he was messing with the stove not long ago.
But I got the papers signed and I now own a home!!!
