Hello friends,
I just went out and got all the goodies to make my own kickpanels, and door panels. I was going to make a template on my own for these, but was wondering if anyone has or knows where to find one already made. Also what would be the easiest way to fashion a template so everything fits perfectly? I know you geniuses out there have done this, and I want to do it too.
If you don't get a better offer, here is what I have. Mid-Fifty repro panels that are not mounted yet. They are covered with fabric. I could probably get within 1/16th inch on the size. The holes are not punched out yet for the handles and won't be. You would probably have to tape the patterns to your doors and mark those holes yourself. Your best bet would be a pattern from a new set of uncovered panels. PM me if you need help.
I taped a large piece of newsprint to the door side of the kickpanel then scored and folded the bottom to get the floor contour... folded at the back and top until it looked right. Transfered marks to untempered masonite cut it out... trimmed back 1/4 inch all around and covered with fabric. I didn't do door panels but would do them the same way. best. himmelberg
