need wireing help after cab swap
OK I'm running a drive train from a 78 f-150 4x4 and a cab off a 77 f-150 2wd. i fixed the neutral safety switch already, now my problem is that the 77 wire harness has a plug next to the brake booster for your keyed ignition to the starter relay or something. but the 78 motor uses a different harness on the motor and a different plug so i cant use it. can i take the 77 302 motor harness and use it on the 78 351m motor so i can finally start my truck?? or do i have to split the harness's and cut and splice the right ends together? please i would finally love to start driving my truck this week since this is the last and final piece to the puzzle

You should be able to use the 77 harness with the 78 engine. I'm in the process of doing pretty much the same thing. Putting a 77 cab on a 79 F-250 4x4 frame. I intend on using all 77 style wiring.

no i cant. the fire wall plugs are all different shapes and sizes. the safety switch is at differnt spots but i fixed that allready. i need to know if i can just use the 302 motor harness on the 78 351m to fix the problem. one thing though the 77 frame harness is thicker gauge wire and was different colors than the 78 so i used the 77 one
