close your eyes. think purple, primer, and rust. then think, po changed the valve covers 1 year ago, and diddn't use gaskets. metal to metal.whole bottom of truck is drooling oil, front to back, had to park it on cardboard. has ceramic coated full length headers though.oh, and the front grill and surrond are perfect.

bought it from rock auto, up top in the sponsors, just click on them then do a serch on your truck. was $112 delivered to my door 4 days later in the big brown truck. came with a new o ring, and lock ring. if I had it to do over, I would order the new straps to go with it.I used rust encapsulater from eastwood on it too. it's galvinized, but I want it to out last me.

Thanks Dusty. I figured on doing new rubber at least, straps probably aren't that much more. Now all I need is the money to buy it.

I don't think you read the part about he used no gaskets, or sealants to instal the valve covers. he drove 10 miles to and from work, and used 6 qts a day.the truck has been here 2 days, and filled up 2 sheets of card board. probaly comeing home with it on the roll back in the rain, it left an oil slick everywhere we went
