I was taking my daughter to her friends, we came out of a turn about 45 or so and she stalled out. I pulled to a stop on the shoulder, turned out the lights, and she fired right up. Turned around to get our van to be safe, but she ran solid all the way home. No sign of anything going or coming to the house except the moment she stalled. What would cause a stall like that? I'm going to fill the tank tomorrow and see if for some reason being below a 1/4 tank would affect her any. Thanks for any ideas, Blair
I had that problem once, the key word here is 1/4 tank...When my truck gets to a 1/4 tank which i dont allow anymore, when i turn she stalls, reson being i think that air is sucked into the fuel line and since you've let your tank get that low go ahead and change your fuel filter. I never let mine get below just past half tank just to be safe. good luck
Thanks, I was thinking something of that nature. Guess that line in my signature about my stupidity has it right. In our van and my work truck, I fill up at 1/4 tank no matter what. I looked at the gauge tonight when I went to get gas, it's more like 1/8 of a tank. Later, Blair
Have the gas tanks been drained...Its amazing the crud that collects in there and what it will do to your drivability...
I started using a new gas station that opened up near my house, ever since Ive been experiencing fuel related problems due to contamination...both the bike and the truck...so Ive stopped buying gas there...
just my $.02
yeah, I ran out of gas when I first got my truck, its not fun siting in the -20 F winds trying to figure out what is wrong and find out that your fuel guage was stuck at 1/4!!!!
She did O.K. on the way home from Station, but that's only 5 miles. Going to the dump as soon as wife gets home, so we'll see if anything else goes wrong. Later, Blair
