Hey guys anyone know if a 300 sounds good opened up with a 2" straight pipe and no cat? I have the glass pack on now and its too dang quiet! I have the extension pipe to put in place of it, but i would like to know first, cause Ohio is not the warmest place this time a year, I don't want to be under the truck alot.
quiet? i have a stock 300 w/ a gutted cat and 15$ swapmeet glasspack and i can set car alarms off. i wake my whole block up when i start my truck in the morning for work @ 6:30 in the morning.
but yea, it's very loud w/ the open manifold and a straightpipe behind it.
Heck yeah its quiet, too darn quiet if you ask me. I have the CherryBomb and its way to quiet. I really like to hear my truck. I ran it in the summer with it cut off at the transfer case, and that rattled my windows. Keep in mind that i have no factory cat or emmissions and i don't plan too. So i haven't tried it out with the fully open striaght pipe yet just wanted to know how it sounds. So it is looking like tommorrow i am in the garage "modifying" a few things Ok guys thanks for the reasurment that its loud.
My old 77 with a 300 had a strait pipe 2 1/4" exiting behind the rear tire. It sounded pretty cool, and was fairly loud when you got on it. But it wasnt too bad going down the road.
}< Ok guys one thing always leads to another, I was changing oil in my baby and that darn glass pack was staring me in the face. So off it went! Holy crap does it sound good now. It sounds about the same at idle but when i crack it open it rattles my truck. Wow i got the results i was looking for, so thank everyone here at the FTE for giving me a step in the right direction. So now i will say it loud and Ford Proud!
